On September 9, 2019, Shohei Shigematsu gave the inaugural guest lecture of the fall semester at Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation. Shigematsu spoke on OMA's recent projects, including prior attempts to build in New York that led to the recent completion of Sotheby's New York Headquarters and 121 East 22nd Street. The talk also drew on Shigematsu's ongoing preoccupations with infinite expansion in the art world and the proliferation of mixed-use architecture.
