Delta Metropool

The Deltametropool study demonstrates that the South wing is in fact part of a far larger urban context stretching as far as Northern France and the Ruhrvalley in Germany. From the perspective of the megalopolis, christened by OMA ‘Eurocore’, the threats and opportunities for the South Wing are formulated. Step by step OMA zooms in from Eurocore to the Randstad to the South Wing. It becomes increasingly clear how and why the South Wing as an urban environment, can only prevail in the competition between European regions and cities for Euros and jobs, on the basis of large scale spatial coherence. Far reaching cooperation could facilitate a flourishing economic network metropolis with three million inhabitants.
